Starting Reception in September 2027
Children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023 are due to start Reception in September 2027.
Parents and carers must make an application for a Reception place even if their child already attends the school's Nursery or has a brother or sister attending the school.

Applications for Reception places are coordinated through local authorities as part of the Pan-London admissions process.
If you live in Newham, you should apply through the London Borough of Newham. Applications can be submitted online using the Pan-London eAdmissions service.

If more applications are received than there are places available, applications will be considered in accordance with the oversubscription criteria contained within the determined admission arrangements above.
Deferred Entry and Admission Outside the Normal Age Group
Parents and carers of children starting Reception have the right to request that their child's admission is deferred until later in the school year, in accordance with the statutory requirements relating to compulsory school age. Parents may also request that their child attends Reception on a part-time basis until they reach compulsory school age.
Parents and carers may also request admission outside their child's normal age group. This includes applications for summer-born children to start Reception a year later than would normally be expected. Requests are considered on an individual basis.

In-Year Admissions
An in-year application is an application for a school place made during the school year or for admission to a year group other than the normal point of entry.
The London Borough of Newham coordinates in-year applications on behalf of Sheringham Primary School. Parents and carers wishing to apply for an in-year place should apply through Newham's School Admissions and Appeals Team.

Parents and carers of children currently in Year 6 must make an application for a secondary school place for September 2027.

Families who live outside Newham must follow the secondary school application process operated by their home local authority, even if they wish to apply for a secondary school in Newham.

Admission Appeals
Parents and carers have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel if their child is refused a place at a school for which they have applied.
Admission appeals for Sheringham Primary School are administered through Newham's independent school admission appeals service.
For Reception entry in September 2027, parents and carers who applied on time and wish their appeal to be heard in the first round must submit their appeal by 11:59pm on Friday 28 May 2027.
On-time Reception appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals. Planned school-specific appeal hearing dates will be published by Newham from 1 February 2027.
